Wireless Policy
The YMCA of Middle Tennessee provides filtered wireless Internet
connectivity at its Bellevue center as a service for YMCA Members with
Wireless enabled devices, including, but not limited to computers,
laptops, tablets and PDAs. Wireless users may be asked to present a
valid YMCA membership card, either from the YMCA of Middle Tennessee at
Bellevue or another YMCA location in the Middle Tennessee area.
By choosing to use this free wireless service each user agrees to abide
by the YMCA’s Acceptable Use Policy that prohibits, among other things,
abusive or illegal activity, accessing inappropriate or offensive
websites, and time-consuming commercial activity while using the YMCA’s
Internet service. It is the responsibility of the user to understand
this Acceptable Use Policy and his/her obligation to refrain from
viewing inappropriate websites, spamming or any illegal activities.
Violations of the Policy may result in user’s loss of YMCA membership
and/or criminal charges.
Parents or their designated guardians are responsible for overseeing
their child(ren)'s use of the Internet and to limit or restrict their
child(ren)'s access to the Internet. YMCA and Senior Citizens, Inc.
staff is not responsible for the decisions and behaviors of minors who
visit the YMCA without a parent or guardian.
Use of the wireless network is at user’s own risk and neither Senior
Citizens, Inc. nor the YMCA of Middle Tennessee is responsible for any
damage that may occur to a user’s wireless device while connected.
User’s wireless device must have a wireless network interface card
(NIC) capable of supporting 802.11a/b/g standards.
Due to insurance limitations and warranties, neither YMCA nor Senior
Citizens, Inc. staff members can configure wireless-enabled devices, or
install PCMCIA cards. Neither Senior Citizens, Inc. nor the YMCA
assumes responsibility for any alterations or interference with a
wireless device’s configuration, operation, or data files resulting
from connection to the wireless network. Virus and security protection
is the user’s responsibility. Neither Senior Citizens, Inc. nor the
YMCA assumes responsibility for damage, theft, or loss of any kind to
user’s equipment, software, data files or other personal property
brought into or used at the YMCA’s facilities.
Users shall defend, indemnify and hold the YMCA of Middle Tennessee and
Senior Citizens, Inc., and their officers, employees, directors and
agents harmless against all claims, actions, and judgments based upon
or arising out of the user’s use of YMCA wireless connections.
