Child/Youth Programs

Regular physical activity is important to all ages. The YMCA provides programs and services for youth to learn the value of health and wellness and the importance of staying active! Our accent is on variety—making it fun and different will keep them enthusiastic. The Wellness Department provides specialty programs like the Youth-Parent program (fee for service program), which assists youth and their parent(s) in designing a workout that is safe, fun and something they can do together.

Summer Day Camp
Day camp brings back many memories and images to campers young and old. It is a powerful experience, which can strengthen the values that you, as parents, teach daily. Day Camp strives to provide a unique quality adventure that enhances your camper's potential in spirit, mind and body.

Campers begin the day with an all-camp gathering before they are divided by their camp of choice. Choices include: Splash Camp, Adventure Guides, Sports Camps, Training Camps, Specialty Camps, and Leadership Camps. Mornings are devoted to camp specific activities that are designed to teach new skills and increase self-confidence. Afternoons come alive with recreational activities that are designed to build group unity and individual character. All camps are designed for outdoors.

Camp hours are Monday-Friday, 9am to 3pm. Extended care is provided from 7 to 9am and from 3 to 6pm at no additional charge.

Martial Arts

Tae Kwon Do Karate
This ancient sport is almost 2000 years old and was first introduced to the United States in the 1950s. It promotes a proud heritage of teaching loyalty to one's nation, respect of parents, faithfulness among friends, courage in battle and avoidance of violence through self-defense techniques. Classes are available for youth (starting at age 5) and adults.

Martial Arts Focus Classes
These Focus classes are an opportunity for current participants of our Martial Art classes to get some extra “hands-on” practice. Our instructor will pick special elements of the program and “focus” the evening on that topic. Focus topics will vary, but promise to be informative and fun!
