You've made the decision to improve your health and fitness, but do have the plan and support you'll need to achieve your goals? You do if you're a YMCA member thanks to the Y's new 3N1 Fitness Program. Offered as a free service to all YMCA of Middle Tennessee members, 3N1 is a personalized wellness program designed to put you on the best flight path toward achieving your health and fitness goals. Participants commit to exercising at least three days a week while meeting regularly with a YMCA wellness coach to track their progress, learn new exercises and receive additional guidance and support. Sign up for 3N1 by visiting our Welcome Center or calling Shellie McMillen at (615) 661-4200 to schedule your first appointment and receive your first 30-day exercise plan.Personal Training
Welcome to a new, healthier you! This is the start of an adventure of fitness and fun. Working with a personal trainer helps take the guesswork out of your exercise routine. Personal training can make a difference in the success of your program. Your fitness program is personally designed to help you reach your goals. Our trainers can work with you reguarly or on a consulting basis to help you design a workout that is uniquely yours. Most clients do not think of personal training as an investment in their spirit and mind; they usually think of it as just an investment in their body. You will notice that just a short time into your workouts there is a connection of both internal and external strength. You should see and feel changes that will have a positive impact on how you feel about yourself, as well as an increase in your energy level. You should start your program knowing that your journey not only involves sculpting your body but also that the pathway of our bodies can be used to mine inner emotional strength.
The first step in working with a personal trainer is to fill out the personal trainer inquiry form at the Member Services Desk. You will be asked to give information about what goals you have for working with a trainer and any health issues, as well as time, date and gender preferences. This will help the Wellness Director match you up with the personal trainer who will best suit your needs. Once you complete this form, the personal trainer will call you to talk more about your specific situation, goals and needs and will schedule your appointment. Please be sure to discuss your personal fitness goals with your trainer and let them know about any limitations or health issues that you may have.
Our Trainers are degreed and YMCA, CPR, and ACSM, NSCA, ACE, NASM, or Cooper certified. Members may not provide their own trainers. Trainers must be employed by the YMCA. Sessions are available on a group or an individual basis. Payment is made at the Member Services Desk. Call (615) 661-4200 for package pricing or for more information, contact Shellie McMillen at (615) 661-4200.
Equipment Orientations
Equipment orientations are for all YMCA members and are FREE. An equipment orientation gives the member the opportunity to become more knowledgeable and comfortable with the fitness equipment in both the machine and free weight areas. A trained YMCA Fitness Team member will show you the proper techniques on using certain strength training machines and cardiovascular equipment. Please wear workout clothes and shoes. Make your appointment now at our Welcome Center.
