Water Aerobics

Exercises performed primarily in a vertical orientation in shallow or deep water. This type of exercise usually does not include swimming skills. Water exercise uses movements that amplify drag by unstreamlining the body to create resistance.
The goal of this program is to create sufficient intensity to provide fitness training adaptations in muscular strength/endurance, oxygen consumption, flexibility, and body composition.

Water Aerobics 101
A 30-minute beginner water aerobics class focusing on using the correct movements in the water. Instructors will ensure you are using all equipment correctly and using proper form so you will be better prepared for a regular water aerobics class.

Arthritic Aqua
An exercise program designed specifically for people with arthritis that uses gentle activities to help increase joint flexibility and range of motion and to help maintain muscle strength. It is recommended that you consult with your doctor before enrolling. You do not have to know how to swim.

Senior Water Exercise
This total body workout for active seniors is conducted in shallow water (you do not have to know how to swim). Exercise to improve your flexibility, strength, endurance, coordination and balance. It is recommended that you consult with your doctor before enrolling.

Persistence Exercise
(Non-members welcome $20/month + program membership)
A non-aerobic overall moderate aquatic exercise program for building and/or maintaining range of motion with some strengthening. Emphasis on upper and lower extremities and truck incorporated into warm-up, shallow water walking and exercise, deep water exercise with flotation device, and stretching. A program for individuals who have/had a stroke, head injury or other brain injury, MS, Fibromayalgia or are recovering from an orthopedic condition.
