Youth Sports
YMCA youth sports provide recreational activities in a team setting with an emphasis on FUNdamentals in a Christian environment. Children are encouraged to participate, learn and grow in skills, confidence, and character. Parents, volunteers and staff who are committed to the values of CARING, HONESTY, RESPECT and RESPONSIBILITY support our leagues.

Registration
Youth sports are for ages 3-18. Individual sport registration forms are available in the lobby of the YMCA. All participants must be a facility member or program member. Season dates are subject to change based on make-up games and league size at the end of registration.
Team Formation
Players are grouped according to their age as of July 31. Teams will be formed with the highest degree of fairness and equality in mind.
Volunteers
Volunteers are a vital part of YMCA youth sports. Parents and coaches provide the power of instruction, support and encouragement that build winning spirits in our youth. Volunteers and sponsors also provide the time and resources that help make our leagues successful. Here are a few ways you can be involved:
- Committee member - provide valuable feedback for league development and quality control
- Sponsor - provide growth for league, teams and players
- Team Parent - bring refreshments and snacks for players
- Support Volunteer - assist with league organization
Registration Dates
Participant's registration must be done at the Donelson-Hermitage YMCA. A $15 late fee will be charged after registration deadline. Any questions please call June Batty, sports director, at (615) 889-2632.

League Balance
To equalize team strength so that all players can develop basic skills in a balanced league of play, the Player Placement System is used. We offer all-girl teams when possible. Please indicate if desired.
Practice
Practices will be held on a weeknight selected by your volunteer coach. We cannot guarantee a specific practice night.
Insurance
The YMCA does not carry accident insurance for any of its program participants. Each participant is responsible for their own insurance.
