Swim Lessons
YMCA Swim Lessons are offered throughout the year in our indoor pool. Our classes are outlined by the National YMCA of the USA Swim Program. All classes are registered by age. Classes must have 3 students to hold class. Schedules are subject to change. All classes have to be paid for reservation with our courtesy counter.
MAKE UP POLICY: Make up lessons are only offered when the YMCA cancels a class (example: class canceled for thunder storm). Make up day and time will be announced by the instructor.
REFUND POLICY: Refunds are offered only when requested prior to the start date or classes missed due to serious illness, injury, or classes canceled by the YMCA (example: classes canceled due to low enrollment) and need to be authorized through the Aquatic Office, (615) 565-6263
REGISTRATION: Registration must be made at the front desk. All registrations will end the Thursday prior to the start of the session. For classes with specific levels, group lessons, it is suggested to register for one session at a time to help ensure proper placement. Keep in mind that children learn through repetition, and it may take several tries to complete one level. Your child will progress at his or her own rate. If you are unsure of what level to register your child for, please ask your current instructor, see descriptions on group lesson page, or call the Aquatics Department at (615) 565-6263.
Private Swim Lessons
Private lessons consist of one participant to one instructor and meet for 30 minutes. Semi-Private lessons are 2 or 3 participants to one instructor and meet for 30 minutes. Participants must be at the same level, the YMCA does not make these combinations. Fees for semi-private lessons are listed at cost per participant.
All classes will be scheduled on a 4 week schedule, following the group lesson session dates. You may register for 1-2 times per week. All Private and Semi-Private lessons must be arranged through the Aquatics Department prior to registration. Please fill out form below and we will contact you as soon as we have an instructor with similar availability, payment/registration is not made until the lesson times are arranged. You will need your instructor's name at time of registration. Private lessons are arranged as per availability of instructors and availability may change.
