Gymnastics & Dance
Each gymnastics and dance participant has the opportunity to develop different athletic skills as well as gain self-confidence and leadership and social skills while learning to work together. Instructors promote character building and positive attitudes in order to help the participant grow in spirit, mind and body.Current session dates, costs and times of classes:
Late registrations must be approved and processed by the program director. There is a $10 late registration fee.
If the YMCA cancels a class a make-up class will be scheduled. Make-up classes are not available for participants who miss a class. In the event of inclement weather, please call (615) 297-6529 after 7am for morning class cancellations and after 12pm for afternoon cancellations. We do not follow Metro school closings.

Gymnastics
Gym n’ SwimAges 6 & up, 9am-12pm

Attire
Athletic shorts and t-shirt or leotard. Please no jeans, jewelry, belts or zippers.
Parent n Tot
Participant, aided by the parent, develops fundamental motor skills through creative use of balls, hoops, tumbling, the Tumbl Trak, games and imaginative play by using specially sized gymnastics equipment including beam, bars, vault and mats.
3-5 year old Gymnastics
Participants, after doing the Parent n Tot class, can continue with gymnastics to develop more specific gymnastic skills, like forward rolls, backward rolls, cartwheels, as well as other skills on bars, beam, and vault. This class also helps teach children to follow instructions and authority figures all while having fun!
6 & up Gymnastics
Participants further their gymnastics education by learning more advanced skills that appropriate for older children such as backbends, handstands, cartwheels on the beam, back walkovers, and other skills on bars and vault. They also will further their abilities and skills by developing strength, balance, a further their coordination to help them in other activities as well.
Invitation Only
Participants, age six and up, will learn USAG compulsories levels I-IV. Participants must be invited to participate in this advanced.

Tumbling (Ages 6 & up)
Participants in this one-hour class focus solely on mat skills: forward rolls, cartwheels, backbends, back handsprings and aerial cartwheels, depending on their level of strength and skill.
Dance
We will be having weekly dance clinics for 4-6 year olds beginning May 12th. There will be 3 days per clinic, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Each day will be one hour and 30 minutes long. Dance styles will include Ballet, Tap and Jazz.Attire
Participants should wear dark solid color leotard, pink or white tights, pink ballet shoes and bring tap shoes.
2-3 yr old Creative Movement
Participants in this class learn motor skills and grow in brain development through creative movement in an organized setting that incorporates nursery rhymes, classical and children's music.
3-5 yr old Dance
In the dance classes, participants learn ballet, tap, and creative-movement skills as well as coordination and body control, while learning to take instruction in an organized setting.
6 & up Dance
Participants further their skill in ballet and tap in addition to learning jazz. This class helps to increase flexibility and coordination.
Specialty Classes
LessonsPrivate gymnastics or dance lessons can be scheduled to suit your needs depending upon the availability of the gym and coach. One can choose from 30-min. lessons, 1-hour lessons, or semi-private 1-hour lessons. For more info, please contact Constance Murph at 565-6262.
