Personal Training -- Boot/Core Camp
Personal Training at the Green Hills Family YMCA
Welcome to a new, healthier you! This is the start of an adventure of fitness and fun. Working with a personal trainer helps take the guesswork out of your exercise routine. Whether you choose one session to set up a program to complete independently, or work with a trainer long-term, you will find that our personal trainers can make a big difference in your exercise program.
Program Design
Your fitness program is personally designed to help you reach your goals. Please be sure to discuss your personal fitness goals with your trainer and let them know about any limitations or health issues that you may have.
Strength Training
Weight training has many benefits, including:
- Enhances cardiovascular health
- Improves body composition
- Increases bone mineral density
- Reduces anxiety, depression, and stress
- Helps prevent injury
- Increases strength & endurance
- Increases metabolism
- Improves self image and self esteem
Getting Started
The first step in working with a personal trainer is to fill out the personal trainer inquiry form at the Member Services Desk. You will be asked to give information about what goals you have for working with a trainer and any health issues, as well as time, date and gender preferences. This will help the Fitness Director match you up with the personal trainer who will best suit your needs. Once you complete this form, the personal trainer will call you to talk more about your specific situation, goals and needs and will schedule your appointment. Payment is made at the Member Services Desk, not directly to the trainer.
Spirit, Mind and Body
Most clients do not think of personal training as an investment in their spirit and mind; they usually think of it as just an investment in their body. You will notice that just a short time into your workouts there is a connection of both internal and external strength. You should see and feel changes that will have a positive impact on how you feel about yourself, as well as an increase in your energy level.
You should start your program knowing that your journey not only involves sculpting your body but also that the pathway of our bodies can be used to mine inner emotional strength.
