Get One-on-One with Ali and Sam

Lechelle and Dana participate in High Intensity Interval Training classes four days per week. The 30-minute classes focus on getting your heart rate up and keeping it up for a quick and efficient calorie burn. The classes are small and are led by certified personal trainers Alisen (Ali) and Sam.

Variety keeps them on their toes

Each class is different, with some focusing more on strength and some on cardio. But according to Lechelle, it's always a great workout. "Ali and Sam treat us to a different workout every single day, four days a week. They know how to attack all parts of our body, and I wouldn’t know how to do that."

Dana adds that the variety keeps your body challenged and produces great results. "You’re guessing every day as to what we’re going to do. We never know, so it’s always a surprise. I like that part of it. They do a great job preparing us and getting us ready for each and every day."

Ali, who also serves as the Brentwood Y's personal training coordinator, says HIIT classes offer members the benefit of one-on-one attention, but still have the motivation from others. "I love that we can encourage our clients to work towards individual goals while encouraging and supporting each other as a team."

Sam, a certified personal trainer, wellness coach and instructor, loves to see the class participants come together for support. "Each person in the group comes from a different background and brings a special aspect to help the group thrive."

Class goes beyond the workout

Ali and Sam also meet with their participants outside of class to ensure they are doing everything possible to achieve their goals. Ali enjoys her one-on-one time with members. "This also allows us to be attentive to their needs and health requirements so we can give guidance and personalized modification throughout the classes as well."

While members are sure to get a great workout, Ali and Sam ensure a holistic approach. They offer tips, resources and activities with the individual's needs in mind.

Additional information

HIIT classes occur Mondays and Wednesdays at 7:30 a.m.; Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:45 a.m.; and Mondays-Thursdays at 5:30 p.m.

The class is for everyone, but is vigorous. If you're recovering from an injury, have heart issues or any health concerns, please alert Ali and Sam ahead of time. All movements can be modified toward the individual.

The cost is $45/member/month which include four, 30 minute classes per week. We also offer a $12 drop-in rate for individuals who only want come a few times a month. The first class is always free for members to try!
