There is always something going on for Active Older Adults (AOA) at the Franklin Family YMCA. Here's what's happening in February.
Upcoming events:
Lunch & Learn with hearing expert K.K. Gross: Tuesday, February 5, 11:30 am
- Nationally-known hearing expert K.K. Gross of the Shea Hearing Aid Center of Nashville will be presenting
- Topics include hearing health, risk factors, communication tips and what to do if you think you have a hearing loss.
- Lunch will be served
- Sign up in the Senior Book by Feb. 1 to reserve a spot
Pull-Tight Theatre presents… On Golden Pond: Thursday, Feb. 7
- Show starts at 7:30pm. Doors open at 7.
- Registration has now ended for this trip. You are welcome to get tickets on your own and join us there.
Afternoon at the Movies: Tuesday, February 12th
- Register at the membership desk by noon on Monday, February 11th to buy tickets here.
- Meet Tuesday at the AMC Thoroughbred Theatre at 633 Frazier Drive.
- Movies are $5-$7, depending on what theatre we pick. Movie & show time will be determined when the movies are released, typically the week
before.
- If you register here at the Y by Monday morning at noon, February 11th, Cheryl will call you with the movie details and then I will get the
tickets in a block so we can all sit together. If you miss that deadline, you can get your own ticket
Valentine's Day Potluck: Thursday, February 14, noon
- Featuring the “Not so Newlywed Game”
- Bring a dish to share
- Sign up in the Senior Book
Game Day: Tuesday, February 19, 11:00 am - 1 p.m.
- Games include Dominoes, Sequence, Rummikub and cards
- Feel free to bring a different game for the group to play
- Meet in YAC
- Participants welcome to bring lunch
- Light snacks will be provided
Graceworks Volunteer Day: Thursday, Feb. 21
- 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. in South Pittsburg, Tn.
- 104 Southeast Parkway in Franklin
- Some possible tasks: Processing donations, organizing, tagging merchandise and testing electronics
- Stay after 11 to shop and get an extra 30% off your purchase
- Sign up in Senior Book by Monday, Feb. 18
Weekly activities:
Pickleball: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.. Meet in the gym to be added to the list for the day.

Bridge: Meet in the cafe on Thursdays at 12:30 p.m.
Mahjong: Meet in the cafe on Mondays at 10:00 a.m.
Y'z Guys Breakfast: All men welcome for fellowship. Group meets for breakfast at 9 a.m. on Wednesdays at Shoney's at 1306 Murfreesboro Pike.
