Indoor Cycling Studio
Our Indoor Cycling Studio includes 23 Star Trac bikes sure to get your heart pumping. To ensure your spot in a class, grab a ticket at the Welcome Center starting 30 minutes before your class starts. The most popular classes are held in the morning on Tuesdays and Fridays and Tuesday or Thursday afternoons.
We encourage beginning indoor cycling participants to come early to their first class so the instructor can help you set up your bike and give you some helpful tips and pointers. It's also wise to bring a sweat towel and water bottle to help keep you hydrated during class.
Locker Rooms
The Sumner County Family YMCA has three locker room facilities—one each for men and women and a family-friendly locker room. The adult locker rooms are open to members ages 14 and up; the family locker room is for families only.
Locker room amenities include hair dryers, benches and lockers, which are available for day-use (please bring your own lock) or for rental. There are eight showers in each adult locker room and four in the family locker room.
Sauna, Steam Room and Whirlpool
Our sauna, steam room and Whirlpool facilities are all located near the indoor pool and available to members 16 and older. For your safety, there is a 10-minute time limit for these areas. All areas are co-ed and require you to wear a bathing suit and to shower prior to using.
Pools
We provide two indoor pools and outdoor pool for your use and enjoyment. Our 25-yard lap pool has six designated swimming lanes, while our indoor therapy pool has a zero-entry area, a small slide and shallow beach area. The lap pool is kept at 82 degrees, the therapy pool a soothing 88.
Our 6.5-foot deep outdoor pool is open Memorial Day through Labor Day, and features two tube slides, fountains and a large shallow-water beach area.
We ask that all members shower before using the pool area and follow all posted pool rules. Younger swimmers must also adhere to the YMCA's swim test policies.
Y-Play
More than just a safe place to look after your children while you work out, our Y-Play service offers children ages 6 weeks to 6 years the chance to get the most out of their own visit to the Y through playing, learning and staying physically active.
Children in our Y-Play are separated by age group and enjoy age-appropriate arts and crafts, coloring, songs, reading time, games and other fun activities.
Additional information
Children may stay at Y-Play for up to two hours per day and a maximum of nine hours per week.
Parents/guardians are the only adults authorized to leave a child with Y-Play, and are required to remain on-site at the Y during their child's visit. Only the parent or guardian who signs a child into Y-Play may sign them out or pick them up.
Note: Our Y-Play is especially busy in the morning between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. A waiting list is kept when the room reaches its maximum number of children.
