Jim Monk, Director of Tennis /

Jim came to the Maryland Farms YMCA from Orlando,
Florida, where he was the Director of Tennis at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress
Resort. Jim brings to us 16 plus years of experience in all areas of the tennis
industry as a USPTA, P1 certified professional. Having played his collegiate
tennis at David Lipscomb University, he went on to play challenger and satellite
events throughout Florida, where he achieved top 10 rankings in both the Men's
Open and Men's 25 and over divisions. Jim looks forward to utilizing his
strengths as a manager and administrator to direct the Maryland Farms YMCA
tennis program into the future.
Hakan Darud, Head
Professional & Director of Junior Development

Originally from Malmo, Sweden, Hakan was an officer in
the Swedish Army before moving to the United States in 1987. Formerly the Head
Professional at the Kenworth Tennis Center in Atlanta, Georgia, Hakan also
coached the Men and Women's Varsity Tennis Teams at Berry College in Rome,
Georgia. Hakan was a three time college All-American and was ranked number 4 in
men's open singles in Tennessee, 1993. Hakan has directed the Junior Development
program for us for the past 12 years. In 2005, seven of the juniors form the
program received NCAA Division I college tennis
scholarships.
Reggie Ludwig, Beginners/Seniors Programming
& Camp Director / X62130
Having brought her love of tennis
with her from London, England, this USPTR certified Professional has been
teaching for three years in Middle Tennessee. This year she successfully created
a Beginners instructional and drill program and has great success. She also
serves as the Junior Summer Tennis Camp Director organizing and direction eight
weeks of day camps each year. She is also involved in our junior development
program and teaches a heavy load of private and group
lessons.
Mark Deaderick, Mens Programming, Match Mates &
Jr. Development / X72126
Originally from Charleston, West
Virginia, Mark joined the Maryland Farms YMCA from Fripp Island Resort in Fripp
Island, South Carolina where he was the Head Tennis Professional. Mark played
his college tennis at the University of Charleston where he was conference
singles and doubles champion. He went on to play satellite and futures
tournaments before teaching at the Evert Tennis Academy in Boca Raton, FL, where
he worked with nationally and ITF ranked juniors. Mark is a USPTA certified
instructor and enjoys working with all ages and levels. He teaches private
lessons and offers several men's clinics on an ongoing
basis.
Benny Jones, Sanctioned Tournament Director &
Referee / X62104
Benny has 15 years of experience as a United
States Tennis Association (USTA) official. He has officiating experience at the
professional, collegiate, sectional, and state level. He is also a USPTA
certified teaching professional who teaches private and group lessons and
assists with our junior development program. One of the tournaments he directed
in 2005 was awarded the USTA Tennessee Junior Tournament of the
Year.
Phil Dillon, Staff Professional /

Formerly Director of Tennis at the Park Country Club in
Buffalo New York, Phil is a USPTR Certified top level Instructor. He has been
teaching since 1985 and first joined the staff at Maryland Farms in 1994 and has
been a part-time Teaching Professional since then. His "Phil's Drills" adult
clinics remain a favorite among the membership.
Scott Brown,
Staff Professonal / X62133
A native of St. Louis, Scott
graduated from Vanderbilt University in 2005 and played number one for the
Vanderbilt Men's tennis team for his last two seasons. He has played on the NCAA
Finals Team and the SEC Championship Team. He currently holds the all-time Most
Career Total Combined Wins and the Most Career Doubles Wins at Vanderbilt and
has been named to the All-SEC Team three times. He recently stopped playing the
ATP Pro Tour for six months and finished with an ATP ranking of 931 in singles
and 991 in doubles. Scott was also ranked top ten in the nation in singles and
number one in doubles in his last two years of USTA juniors. Scott joined
Maryland Farm's staff in April 2006 and coaches all levels of juniors and
adults.
Heidi Allsmiller, Staff Professional /

Heidi has been around since the building opened and her
accomplishments are too numerous and legendary to mention. She does coach two of
the tennis director's middle school daughters as the Grassland Middle School
coach so her job is safe for years to come. Heidi is one of the most respected
teachers of the game in Tennessee and has been teaching at Maryland Farms for
over a decade.
Jackie Johnson, Staff Professional /

For over 20 years, Jackie has worked with numerous
state, southern, and nationally ranked players. Jackie graduated from Murray
State where he played on the varsity tennis team and also served as the
assistant tennis coach. He is a certified tennis professional of the USPTA.
Jackie was the Tennis Director at Jackson Country Club from 1986-1995 in
Jackson, Tennessee. He joined Maryland Farms from Jackson Tennis Swim &
Fitness Club in the spring of 2005 where he was part owner, club manager, and
Tennis Director. Jackie is the former coach of Lee Taylor Walker who was ranked
top 24 nationally in the boy's 18's and top 48 NCAA Division 1.
