At the YMCA of Middle Tennessee our food philosophy is simple: we believe that food should be stress-free, nutrient-rich and enjoyable. We encourage healthy eating by focusing on a variety of whole-foods and beverages to fuel your body to be its best, and we recognize that healthy eating looks different for everyone. We promote a well-balanced diet, an active lifestyle and positive mindset as the keys to disease prevention and healthy living. Meet our Registered Dietitians
Brittany Cardwell is a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) with the Commission on Dietetic Registration and a licensed dietitian (LD) with the Ohio Board of Dietetics and the Tennessee Board of Dietitians. She is a graduate of Miami University (Ohio) with a B.S. in Kinesiology and Health. Following undergrad, she completed a 10-month dietetic internship program in Sarasota, Fl. After becoming an RD, she began working as an outpatient dietitian for a Weight Management Center and Health Management Group. She went on to work with the Ohio State Highway Patrol as their first on-staff dietitian. Brittany has been a part of the YMCA of Middle Tennessee since March 2018, primarily working with the After Breast Cancer (ABC) Program, but also providing individualized nutrition counseling at multiple YMCA Centers.
Brittany Dillon is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) and Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN). Brittany graduated from James Madison University with a B.S. in Dietetics and completed her dietetic internship through Aramark. As a college athlete and group fitness instructor, Brittany quickly developed a passion for understanding how to best fuel the human body through optimal nutrition in order to achieve results. In addition, Brittany works as a clinical dietitian. With a food first mentality, Brittany strives to help others learn how to nourish their bodies through education, practice, and application of balanced eating and healthy living.
Katherine is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) and Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN). She earned both a B.S. in Nutrition and Food Science and an M.S. in Human Sciences from MTSU. She graduated from the Dietetic Internship program at Lipscomb University. She has acute care/hospital dietetics experience, as well as diabetes nutrition counseling expertise. Within the Y, Katherine provides individual nutrition counseling and teaches group fitness classes.
Casey is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) and Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN). She began her career in Louisville, KY with an Associates Degree in Culinary Arts from Jefferson Community and Technical College. After several years of cooking professionally, she decided to expand her knowledge by pursuing an education in nutrition. Following a move to the Nashville area, she graduated, with honors, from Lipscomb University with a Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics, and completed an internship with The University of TN. She now uses her wealth of knowledge in the culinary and nutrition world to fuel her passion for education. She is dedicated to helping clients understand how to shop, cook, eat and live well.
