YMCA Black Achievers empowers minority and underserved youth by providing the resources and support they need to excel in high school, gain access to higher education, take advantage of scholarship opportunities and find their career path.

  • Program Details

    The Black Achievers program focuses specifically on college readiness, career exploration and leadership development by having participants explore their interests and discover new career paths.

    Black Achievers assists the student’s exploration and readiness by offering events and activities such as

    • After school club meetings at select schools
    • Saturday club meetings at a central location
    • Community service projects
    • College and career fairs
    • ACT prep workshops
    • Individualized college counseling
    • College tours
    • Financial aid application assistance
    • Scholarship workshops
    • Leadership training and career readiness
    • College application assistance
    • Career tours at local, national, and international businesses
