ABOUT THE RACE

Run with the family and then cool off at the 15th annual Maryland Farms YMCA Andrews Cadillac Firecracker 5K. Held on July 4, the event has something for the whole family to enjoy including a costume contest and historical guests like Lady Liberty and Uncle Sam.

The day includes a 5K run starting at 7 a.m. and a Luken Kids 1-mile Fun Run starting at 8 a.m. 5K race starts in front of the Maryland Farms YMCA Carol and Roy Elam Family Center, and the course will stay within the Maryland Farms Office Park.

The race ends behind the Maryland Farms Y by the pool. First, second and third place awards in several categories will be presented during a ceremony immediately following the race.

Childcare is available for the race. Immediately following the race, Y members and race participants can cool down at the Maryland Farms YMCA July 4 pool party from Noon-2 p.m. Activities include a moonwalk, face painting and water games. Cost for early registration: $25 per person (closing on June 31), and $35 per person up until race day.
