Wellness
The YMCA movement and its commitment to health and wellness is so strong, it even created the sports of basketball and volleyball, as well as YMCA methods for swim instruction that have become the standard in teaching people how to swim. However, fitness is just one part of a larger whole, not a separate activity of the YMCA's other programs and services. The YMCA has never focused on the body alone, because for over a century the Y has recognized that a person achieves total health when his/her spirit, mind and body are balanced.Equipment Orientations
Based upon your individual goals, a certified trainer will demonstrate to you different cardiovascular and strength training machines showing proper form, body alignment, pace and suggested repetitions. Our hope is that this will provide the member more personal attention during their first 3 months at the Y. A routine will be given based on the member's fitness goals, experience, and physical limitations. Records will be kept on every member containing each appointment and the information given.
Personal Training
Personal training can make a difference in the success of your program. Our trainers can work with you regularly or on a consulting basis to help design a workout that is uniquely yours. Trainers encourage you to exercise and reach your goals. Trainers are YMCA, CPR, and ACE, NASM, Cooper Institute, NSCA or ACSM certified. Trainers must be employed by the YMCA. Members may not provide their own trainers.

Fitness Evaluation
Sign up for a FREE fitness evaluation at the fitness desk. Members are encouraged to test periodically to track their fitness through measuring body fat composition, recovery heart rate, muscular strength, and flexibility.
Youth Certifications
Certified wellness staff will instruct youth in proper use of exercise equipment to meet the needs of each child. Youth ages 10-13 will need to participate in one appointment with the staff in order to complete the training and use the wellness center. Youthstrength training is free to Facility members.
First Steps
This is a twelve-week process with one-on-one attention to educate and motivate you to reach your fitness goals. You will be assigned a lifestyle coach who will stay with you throughout the twelve- week period. You will have four to five sessions with your coach and weekly personal contact to maintain accountability. FREE to members.
