Tumbling Classes
Ages 3-8, Tuesdays 6-6:45pm
Tumbling skills serve as physical and conceptual prerequisites for more advance gymnastics skills. We can categorize FUNdamental tumbling skills into three groups: balances and supports, rotations, and springing and landing. Each skill within a group is related to another by common movements and problem solving themes. The YMCA tumbling program utilizes a progressive format. This mean that youth must complete certain skill levels to progress to the next group. Lesson plans include Assessments, Safety Issues, Form, Equipment use and most importantly having fun while learning the FUNdamentals. Track your child's progress on a Progress Report given out at the end of each session. We look forward to serving you and your child though our Tumbling Program.

Martial Arts
Ages 5-14, Saturdays 11am-12pm
Ages 14 & up, Saturdays 12:15-1:15pm
For the parents of young Tae Kwon Do practitioners, one of the most appealing aspects of this martial art is its emphasis on character development. Through its "Five Tenets," "Student Creed," and "Student Oath," Tae Kwon Do seeks to encourage "good life choices" and a sense of "doing the right thing," which in an age of risqué role models and situations continually being depicted in the popular media, further compounded by continual negative peer-pressure at school and in adolescent social circles, can never be over-emphasized.

Five Tenets of Tae Kwon Do
Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control and an Indomitable Spirit In addition to the Five Tenets, discipline, ethics, and good choices are encouraged through both the Student Creed and the Student Oath:

Student Creed
I intend to develop myself in a positive manner and avoid anything that would reduce my mental growth or my physical health.
I intend to develop self-discipline in order to bring out the best in myself and others.
I intend to use what I learn in class constructively and defensively, to help myself and my fellow man, and to never be abusive or offensive.

Student Oath
I shall observe the tenets of Tae kwon Do.
I shall respect instructors and seniors.
I shall never misuse Tae kwon Do.
I will be a champion of freedom and justice.
I will build a more peaceful world.
