YMCA Group Lesson Policies
Registration and and participants
When a class has fewer than 3 registered participants, the class will be consolidated into lessons meeting for the first half of the scheduled lesson dates.
Registration for a class ends two days before class begins to allow for instructor scheduling. Approval from the program coordinator is required for late registration.
Make-up lessons will be scheduled if a lesson is cancelled due to inclement weather, pool closing, or other unforeseen circumstances. The YMCA will make every effort to contact you as soon as possible if a lesson is cancelled - please verify your contact information is up to date at the Welcome Center. Your swim instructor will give you the exact date and time of the make-up lesson. We are not able to offer make-up lessons for individual absences.
Photography and media
The YMCA may photograph both you and your child, and the YMCA may use those photographs for its marketing purposes. If you would prefer to not be included, please inform the program coordinator. We ask you to be conscientious to not include other members and guests when taking personal photographs or videos.
Lesson levels and other questions for staff
Participants may be moved to different levels based upon swimming performance before the conclusion of a class session. Scheduling and class questions or concerns should be directed to the program coordinator. Class cancellations, transfers and refunds are at the discretion of the program coordinator and must be requested via email or phone.
Accompanying your child
Participants under age 12 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian and must provide a current membership card or valid photo ID on each visit.
