FACILITY INFORMATION
Welcome Center
The Northwest Family YMCA's Welcome Center is your one-stop shop to have your member cards scanned, check in guests, register for programs or services and get answers to any questions you may have.
All guests must sign in, fill out a form and present a photo ID at the welcome area to be verified in our system. We take guests' photos and enter their data into our computer system before issuing guest passes.
Wellness Center
Our state-of-the-art Wellness Center is designed for user-friendliness, offering you great options and a variety of workouts to try. Our range of equipment and generously-sized workout area let you accomplish almost any exercise or fitness goal you have in mind.
Wellness staff members are always on hand to help answer any questions you may have during your time on the wellness floor. They can also connect you with both free and fee-based programs and services to help you set and achieve your health and fitness goals.
Group Exercise Facilities
We offer 51 group exercise classes each week in our Group Fitness Room. Basic equipment needs for all classes are provided.
Classes offered (per week): 51
Most popular classes: Zumba, Ultimate Cardio, African Dance
Reservations: required: No
Usage policy: All codes of conduct and wellness rules apply for group exercise classes. We ask that participants do a self-assessment to gauge fitness level.
Indoor Cycle Studio
Our indoor cycling classes are held in a designated room stocked with 12 LiveStrong bikes. Classes are available on a first come, first serve basis. Early evening classes tend to fill up very quickly.
If you choose to come to an indoor cycling class, we recommend you bring a water bottle and a towel. Newcomers are advised to arrive early for class to get insights on bike setup and other class details from the instructor.
Locker Rooms
We have three locker rooms for our members' convenience: a men's, a women's and a family space for those with kids under 10 years of age. Children 10 and up must use the locker room for their appropriate gender.
Members may rent lockers for a monthly fee. Otherwise, they must bring their own locks and take all personal items with them as they leave. The men's facility has 76 lockers; the women's locker rooms have 46.
There are four showers in both the men's and women's facilities. There are no private changing areas.
Hair dryers, irons and ironing board are offered as amenities for members.
Those using the locker room facilities are expected to follow the member code of conduct specified in the YMCA Member Handbook. No cell phone use is allowed in locker rooms.
Sauna, Steam Room and Whirlpool
We offer a sauna, steam room and Whirlpool, all accessible from the pool deck, for use by all members age 18 and up. Each offering has a 30-minute time limit for use to limit the dangers of excessive heat exposure.
Proper attire is required. No street shoes or shaving activities are allowed. We ask everyone to shower before entering; those who have infectious or communicable diseases or open cuts are not permitted.
Indoor Pool
Our indoor pool is open year-round. We designate one lane for lap swimming at all times, though the area may be limited during water aerobics classes or special events.
The pool is 25 yards long and with a depth of four feet. It is kept at 84 degrees and also features three slides and fountains.
Members must abide by pool rules and the YMCA's swim test policy for younger swimmers.
Gymnasium
The gym is used for USSAA sports, special events and basketball and volleyball games. The space may be split into separate areas when needed. During adult basketball games, the environment is competitive; at other times, it is very kid-friendly. See schedule for details of use and availability.
Indoor Track
Located at the gym entrance, the indoor track is open to any member age 10 and up. Eighteen laps equal one mile, and members are welcome to walk or run on the track. Please see posted signs for directions and rules regarding track usage.
Outdoor Track
Located alongside the parking lot, the outdoor track is open for all ages and to the community as well. One mile is equal to six laps.
Sports Field
Our sports field is used for soccer, football, special events and day camp activities. The community is welcome to enjoy this area, as well, whenever it is not in use for organized activities.
Chapel
The chapel is located off the main hallway and is available for member and staff use anytime the building is open. There is no schedule; anyone may stop for prayer, reflection, study or quiet meetings as desired. There's a prayer request box, kneeling cushions, free literature and Bibles on hand for your use and convenience.
The chapel may be rented to outside groups at the discretion of YMCA management.
Other Program Areas
Our pavilion and the Multipurpose Room are popular features for current members. These facilities are available for rental for parties, baby showers, cookouts or other activities. The pavilion has a picnic area and grill and is easy to decorate. The Multipurpose Room is spacious and simple to configure for an array of events and uses.
Y-Play
More than just a safe place to look after your children while you work out, our Y-Play service offers children ages 6 weeks to 6 years the chance to get the most out of their own visit to the Y through playing, learning and staying physically active.
Children are separated by age and are offered a fun array of age-appropriate activities for amusement while parents enjoy their workouts, including physical activities, music and movement, story time, singing/song, educational games, puzzles and coloring. There's also a playground.
Additional Information
Children may stay at Y-Play for up to two hours per day and a maximum of nine hours per week.
Parents/guardians are the only adults authorized to leave a child with Y-Play, and are required to remain on-site at the Y during their child's visit. Only the parent or guardian who signs a child into Y-Play may sign them out or pick them up.
Youth Activity Center
The Youth Activity Center is designed for youth ages 7-13 and allows participants to enjoy Wii games, get homework help and participate in physical fitness activities.
All Youth Activity Center visitors are expected to adhere to the YMCA's code of conduct and behavior policies. All kids must be signed in and out by a parent or guardian. IT Creswell students are checked in after school and signed out by a parent or guardian.
Preschool
The Northwest YMCA Preschool, a 3-star childcare facility, serves children ages 6 weeks to 5 years (Pre-K) weekdays from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. The preschool offers a hand-on, developmentally appropriate curriculum, taught in large classrooms by qualified staff members who are certified in CPR and first aid. There is a large playground area for the children, as well.
