AngelEye Pool Safety Technology

At the YMCA of Middle Tennessee, creating safe and welcoming spaces is always a top priority. As part of our ongoing commitment to water safety, we are adding AngelEye, a state-of-the-art water safety monitoring system, to indoor pools across our association.

AngelEye uses aerial and underwater camera technology to help identify possible swimmer distress and notify on-duty lifeguards in real time. This added layer of protection is designed to support trained lifeguards and strengthen safety at our Y centers.

Supporting Safer Pool Experiences

After a successful pilot program in late 2025, the Y began installing AngelEye systems in indoor pools in May 2026. Because our indoor pools operate year-round, they are the first focus of this rollout, with installation expected to continue across all family wellness centers through the end of the year.

How AngelEye Supports Safer Pool Experiences
  • Real-time alerts to help identify possible swimmer distress
  • Faster response support for on-duty lifeguards
  • Additional training tools for aquatics staff
  • Added peace of mind for members and families

Our Commitment to Water Safety and Privacy

The Y is constantly evaluating how we keep members and guests safe in and around our pools. AngelEye is one more investment in supporting our lifeguards, strengthening our safety practices and helping provide families with added peace of mind while enjoying our indoor aquatics facilities year-round.

AngelEye operates on a closed, secure network designed to protect swimmer privacy and support emergency response efforts. Images captured by the system are used only for drowning detection, emergency response and, when applicable, lifeguard training, and are never sold or shared with third parties.
