Our classes offer a fun, supportive space for kids to build confidence, spark imagination, and develop teamwork through games, storytelling, and performance. Why YMCA Theater Classes? Because at the Y, we’re dedicated to nurturing the whole child—body, mind, and spirit, and theater is a powerful way for young children to find their voice, express themselves, and shine both on and off the stage. 2026 Summer Theater Classes Schedule
Priority Registration Dates: May 6-June 5 (Late Registration begins June 6 through July 6)
Classes begin the week of July 6
Locations and Ages
- Ages: Classes divided between ages 6-8 and 9-12.
- Offered: Monday, 5 p.m. or 6:30 p.m., depending on age.
- Classes to be held at Oak Hill Assembly of God.

Description
In this playful acting class, kids will pretend, imagine, and have fun learning how to use their voices, faces, and bodies to tell stories on stage. Each week is filled with games, characters, and teamwork that help build confidence and creativity. At the end of the course, kids will perform a fun Showcase for family and friends.

Description
Step into the golden age of radio as students recreate an authentic 1940s dramatic broadcast complete with period-accurate storytelling, sound effects, and lively jingle advertisements. Participants will develop acting skills, explore character voices, and experiment with regional and historical dialects to bring scripts to life. Perfect for aspiring actors and theater enthusiasts, this class brings the magic of old-time radio to life through fun, collaborative performances.
