Both the Brentwood and Green Hills Ys are now stocked with the latest and best strength and cardio training equipment in their new and improved wellness centers, including but not limited to:

Great news! The new Brentwood Family YMCA plans to offer nearly all your favorite group exercise classes from Maryland Farms. Even better news: Most will be offered at close to their same day and times with the same instructors! CLASS CREDITS

If you have unused class credits and do not plan on attending classes at the Brentwood or Green Hills YMCA, you will need to contact Kari Ann Bonner (kbonner@ymcamidtn.org) before June 1.

SCHEDULING

Classes will resume at the Brentwood Y the week of May 22. See the Brentwood group exercise schedule. To schedule classes at our new location, 8207 Concord Road, you will follow the same process you did for scheduling at Maryland Farms.

The Green Hills Family YMCA currently offered paid Pilates Tower Mat classes as well as individual and group Pilates Training.

Performance Zone

Both the new Brentwood Y (rendering shown above) and Green Hills Y (shown below) will offer the same dedicated Performance Zone spaces as well as other areas for functional fitness workouts that you’ve come to enjoy at Maryland Farms.

Outdoor Fitness

Both the new Brentwood Y and Green Hills Y (shown above) now feature outdoor fitness areas where you can complete your workout in an invigorating outdoor setting.

Swimming and Aquatics

Outdoor Pool/Water Park

The Brentwood Family YMCA’s new Carpenter Outdoor Aquatics Center (rendering shown above) will soon become Brentwood’s go-to destination for outdoor exercise and fun in the water. The new zero-entry recreation pool includes two water slides, water spouts and other fun features designed for members of all ages.

A second six-lane, 25-yard lap swimming pool will provide dedicated space for exercise-minded swimmers. Best of all, both pools will be heated, ensuring that the aquatics center will remain open well past Labor Day. This space will also feature a snack pavilion, changing areas, and expanded outdoor deck space.

Community Spaces

The new Brentwood Y features a dedicated community wing with several new spaces for members to gather and find fellowship. And the completely renovated Sam McGahern Full Circle Center will continue to provide vital learning and recreation opportunities for members with diverse abilities.

The Green Hills Y also added new community rooms and social spaces as part of its multi-million dollar renovation.

Locker Rooms

Both the Brentwood and Green Hills Ys have completely renovated their existing gender-based locker rooms and added new community locker room options to provide even greater access and convenience for members.

Y-Play/Youth Activity Centers

New and improved spaces for kids and teens were a special focus of both renovation projects at Brentwood and Green Hills.

Highlighted by the new Dummermuth Adventure Zone, Brentwood’s new Y-Play and Youth Activity Center areas (rendering shown above) will provide kids with expanded opportunities to play and take part in STEM activities and new programming. The space will also be available for unscheduled playtime for families when Y-Play and YAC are not in service. And the new Teen Center features dedicated spaces for education, music, e-gaming, and socializing while also providing easy access to the Skate Park and new outdoor Youth Terrace.

At Green Hills, the Grant and Howorth Family Youth Adventure Center (above) creates an unplugged environment where youth can climb, explore and connect in a creative and adventure-filled environment.

Racquet/Paddle Sports

While the closure of the Maryland Farms YMCA will unfortunately mean the end of tennis and racquetball opportunities at the Y, both the Brentwood and Green Hills Ys offer the option to take up pickleball.

The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department is one alternative option for members seeking new tennis or racquetball opportunities.
